Luxury Comfort :

It all started with Allyson and Michael, who lived in a small flat on a gas lantern-lit lane, nestled in the heart of Boston's historic Beacon Hill.
It was on these winding alleys and cobblestone passageways that Allyson learned the hard way the importance of comfortable footwear. After months of withstanding throbbing, blistering feet wearing shoes that looked fashionable but could not withstand the bumps and grinds of city walking, Allyson decided to take matters into her own hands. To create a collection of footwear that is fashionable yet comfortable enough to walk, work and play in. And what better place to look than in the country of Michael's heritage - Italy, where shoemaking has become an art form - where resources in leathers and materials are unparalleled.
The company being named after Michael Ciccia’s mothers maiden name. Their shoes are comfort-oriented with an edge or twist to them. The Cordani signature is its unit-bottom, a polyurethane-injected mold bottom. The mold has cylinders and when the plastic is poured, the cylinders create hollows, making them light and springy. The companies hallmark is the footwear’s contrast hand stitching.
Allyson comes up with the idea for a shoe, and Michael sketches it on paper. He faxes the sketch to one of three factories in La Marche Italy, a mountainous region known for shoemaking.
“Our customers are pretty professional, pretty active,” says Ciccia, “You can wear them every where. These are not runway shoes.”
