Moving to New York City in 1983, she continued to design jewelry for herself and friends while studying ballet and modern dance. She performed in such avant-garde downtown theaters as
The Kitchen, and in a number of music videos including
Steve Winwood's award winning
Higher Love video.
MICHELE QUAN
Canadian
Michele Quan moved to New York City in 1984 to study graphic design at Parson's. She met Renzi in the 1980s while waitressing at the restaurant Indochine. She then became the first model at Women Model Management. In the course of her six-year career in fashion, Quan appeared on the pages of
Glamour, Mademoiselle, Vogue, and
Italian and
French Vogue as well as on runways in Milan, New York and Paris. Through her friendship with Robin Renzi she became enamored with the art and craft of jewelry design.
