The wonder boys of Vėn: Gustavo La Grave and James Rowley
NBFs Tonight, Thursday, March 21, is the grand opening of Vėn, the dreamiest women's shoe store to open in Austin. Owners James Rowley and Gustavo La Grave (who have quickly become a hot social commodity) sent out lovely press kits that included Godiva chocolates nestled in a beautiful box of rose petals. Vėn offers a collection drawn from some of the swankest names in shoe biz: Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Charles Jourdan, as well as more unusual offerings such as Taryn Rose. Maggie, the gregarious rep for the line of orthopedically correct high-style shoes, has also made our social scene recently, and attended last week's Austin Music Awards with James and Gustavo. The boys are considering adding men's shoes to their collection in the fall. The opening will continue Friday and Saturday with trunk shows, hors d'oeuvres, and a 25% discount on a second pair of shoes (of equal or lesser value, of course).
