About the Salon : History

vėn Shoe Salon was opened on February 02, 2002 as an integral part of a much bigger plan. Referred to by those internally, as "The Incubator", vėn has succeeded to be the chief driver of all businesses under our umbrella.

2001, New York City, NY.

James Rowley left his job at Ogilvy & Mather, one of, if not the world's leading brand management agencies. James worked on brands such as American Express, Motorola, IBM, Kodak, At&T and Cotton.

Gustavo La Grave left his job at MAXX New York as a designer and product developer working with companies such as Longchamp, Kenneth Cole and Macy's.

Together, James and Gustavo spent the remainder of the year developing their business plan. The plan incorporated the development of a wholesale brand, a retail outlet and a brand representation company. However, it soon became evident that it all hinged on the success of vėn.

2002, Austin, TX.

After months of research, we determined that if vėn Shoe Salon was going to develop the spirit it needed to become "The Incubator", we had to be in Austin, TX.

So on February 2, 2002, vėn Shoe Salon opened it's doors with the support of some major industry brands.

Our commitment to building our store around leading industry brands has made Vėn Shoe Salon Austin's premiere shoe boutique. Carrying lines such as Stuart Weitzman, Cole Haan, Claudia Ciuti, Calvin Klein, Taryn Rose, Giueseppe Zanotti, Casadei, Me & Ro Jewelry, Richard Tyler and more has set us apart from any other shoe and accessory salon in Austin. Along with these brands, we have always strived to support local Austin designers and that is very evident in our wide range of accessories.

2003, Alicante, Spain

After combining our knowledge of leading brands with our new-found knowledge of what it was that our Austin customer wanted, we started on phase two of our business plan and headed for Alicante, Spain.

After shopping Spain's finest factories, we found a partner to help bring our vision to life. We have now launched the plėy line at the US shows and are currently found in 55 of the US's most recognized shoe boutiques.

2004, Austin, TX.

Vėn continues to bring the highest in quality and customer service to Austin. We have developed our store in to 4 main categories:
